K104

Even on the first few kilometers, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Lake Cauma, one of Flims most famous landmarks, as well as the idyllic Lake Cresta and the charming Conn. The route then continues to Larnags. This is followed by the ascent to Crap Sogn Gion, before the route continues over Crap Masegn, which offers fantastic views of the surrounding area. After Crap Masegn, the route continues through the forefield of the Vorab glacier via Nagens, from where you reach Segnesboden.

This is the hub of the mountain railroad with the world’s first FlemXpress. The route takes you through the impressive Sardona UNESCO World Heritage Site, past the famous Tschingelhörner and the Martinsloch – a geological masterpiece that will leave you in awe. From Segnesboden, the route continues via Segnes Sura and the Fuorcla Raschaglius up to the Flimserstein, before leading into the impressive Bargis high valley.

The Cassonsgrat – the highest point of the K104 (2694m above sea level) – is considered to be the most important resting area in Switzerland for the Mornell’s plover before it continues its journey south. You then climb uphill again to Alp Mora, which gives you a unique view of the surrounding peaks and where there are even glacier mills in Val Maliens. After the descent to Trin, the route continues to Reichenau.

Here the Anterior and Posterior Rhine join to form the Alpine Rhine before the long journey to the North Sea begins. Reichenau has a castle and is an important traffic junction on the north-south axis. The route continues along the Hinterrhein through a beautiful floodplain forest to the 350m-long bridge over the Hinterrhein. The mighty rocks, the wild power of the river and the diversity of species create an atmosphere that you won’t soon forget. After Bonaduz, you immerse yourself in the unique and mystical Rhine Gorge, also known as the “Grand Canyon of Switzerland”.

Without the world’s second largest landslide in Flims around 9,000 years ago, which amounted to a gigantic 10 km3, this would not have been possible.

Valendas was on the verge of extinction for 20 years. A group of locals got together and fought back. Today, Valendas stands for a prosperous village community and an architectural masterpiece in settlement renewal.

During your run, you can constantly enjoy impressive views of the Sardona Tectonic Arena with the imposing Tschingelhörner and the unique Martinsloch. Experience the mystical atmosphere of the Flimserstein and the Bargis high valley and discover the turquoise-blue Lake Cauma along the route. The challenges of the K104 trail run not only offer an intense running experience, but also the opportunity to experience the beauty and diversity of the Swiss mountain landscape.

Are you ready to push the limits of your endurance and discover the region’s impressive nature at the same time? The K104 trail run is waiting for you.
